Upholstery sofa style
Today we are introducing an outdoor sofa tailor-made for outdoor projects in North America. Constructed with an all-aluminum frame and upholstered in outdoor performance fabric, this sofa boasts a minimalist and attractive appearance.
Quality products must meet strict engineering quality standards.
This project is a semi-outdoor space fitted with custom motorized retractable awnings overhead. Even so, direct sunlight still hits the sofas during certain hours. In heavy wind and rain, the sofas are highly likely to get fully soaked.
For this reason, the client requires outstanding weather resistance for the sofas. All aluminum framing — both exposed sections and internal frames covered by fabric — must be weatherproof, corrosion-resistant and rust-proof. The outdoor upholstery fabric needs superior anti-UV performance; fading within one or two years is completely unacceptable.
Additionally, the fabric should offer water repellency to handle snowy and foggy conditions. The foam filling inside must be quick-dry as well.
To meet the client’s requirements, we have decided to customize a high-end outdoor sofa for their project. Firstly, the entire frame is constructed from full aluminum alloy, which guarantees both lightweight performance and structural stability. The tapered leg design also serves as an attractive decorative highlight of this sofa.
In fact, there were quite a few discussions and disagreements during the frame design and production phase. We developed two separate frame designs in total. Material Selection Before Upholstery
Next comes the upholstery process. Before that, we need to select outdoor fabric with excellent UV resistance, soft texture, great wear resistance and waterproof finish. After repeated comparisons, we finally opted for Agora outdoor fabric from Spain, paired with premium porous quick-dry foam.
As for the lumbar cushions, they are filled with high-density PP cotton. It delivers reliable lumbar support while offering a soft, comfortable touch for the waist.

The finished product was complete.
Once the upholstery of the main frame is finished, we will apply electrostatic powder coating to the leg frames and fit floor pads, marking the full completion of the sofa. In fact, the whole process of this sofa, from drawing design and sample making to mass production, took more than seven months in total. Our persistent efforts finally paid off as we secured the bulk order. We also customized three-seater sofas of the same style for the client’s project.
